Regardless of what you want to call it, the earths temps are rising too fast and we need to reduce the use of fossil fuels to combat it. Most of the world is doing a lot. There is of course one leader who stands out who I wont mention because his trolls will start attacking me!

@TM - ypu stated : because of uncertainty as to whether global temperatures would continue to rise and that id is completely untri. The science is 100 percent understood, and if more greenhouse gasses enter the atmosphere the temperature will rise. By how much That depends on the amoiunt of man-made emissions. The 1990 IPCC first report predicted that we would reach 1 C degree increase in 2025 compared to 1990 level, and it is in fact a bit more. These are the FACTS, not what you called the facts but that are only opinions in certain media.

@MrOoijer, thank you for outlining the basics of climate change science. You helped me to distinguish between the science itself and the derivative political propaganda. You also motivated me to identify and fill some of the gaps in my knowledge. I was stuck in the idea that the effect of CO2 in the atmosphere would be essentially the same at all altitudes, an idea reinforced by the expression greenhouse effect. The alternative model of atmospheric layers which have different compositions and densities is so much more complete and obviously much closer to the truth.
